Bad weather stopped a T20 World Cup 2024 match in Florida. Not a single ball was thrown. India and Canada didn’t play their last group match at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium. The match was set for Saturday. Florida’s weather has been rough lately.
Because of this, the match between the United States (US) and Ireland was canceled on Friday. This got Pakistan out of the T20 World Cup. The US team will now advance to the Super 8 in the tournament.
India and Canada’s cricket game is set to start at 10:30am local time in Florida. The weather forecast predicts a 51% probability of rainfall at 8:00am. But remember, just yesterday, a burst of rain drenched the field at the same time.
This was before the USA-Ireland game. The result? A soaked field. Umpires couldn’t initiate the game due to the wetness. Eventually, the game was called off due to a second rain episode that arrived at 1:00pm local time.
Just to highlight, India has punched their ticket for the Super 8. They are slotted in Group A with Australia, Afghanistan, and could be seen with Bangladesh or the Netherlands.
