We had a fantastic run in the 50-over World Cup and advanced to the final. We’ve played with some of the top teams, in my opinion. Since the tournament’s inception in 2007, India has failed to win the T20 World Cup, and since 2011, they have failed to win the one-day World Cup.
India will play Pakistan on June 9; the USA will host the competition in New York three days later; on June 15, they will play their last group match against Canada in Lauderhill, Florida.

NEW YORK: Fast bowler Anrich Nortje has defended the drop-in pitch that was utilized for South Africa and Sri Lanka’s low-scoring T20 World Cup 2024 encounter.
After bowling a fantastic session, Nortje returned with figures of 4-7 in his four overs, limiting Sri Lanka to a pitiful 77. South Africa, after losing four wickets, struggled to chase the meager score in 16.2 overs.
The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York hosted its inaugural game, although the outfield’s sluggish speed and uneven ground drew criticism. Nortje countered that not every game needed to have 20 sixes to be enjoyable, rejecting the claim that the match was a poor representation of T20 cricket.
Nortje remarked, I thought the game was great. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it doesn’t automatically follow that a game has to include 20 sixes in order to be interesting.
The game still requires a great deal of thinking. Regardless of whether it’s fast bowlers, spinners, or sixes, there’s a lot of talent involved in the game. Thus, in my opinion, the game was excellent.
At the end of the day, the game was still tight; had they lost one or two wickets, the outcome may have been different. We may have been little more troubled. The pitcher also admitted that the pitch was not what modern players were used to.
He stated, “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the wickets.” It’s also pleasant for bowlers. We are also permitted to receive aid in any kind.
