The Pakistan Cricket Board, also known as the PCB, is holding back. They’ve yet to give the go-ahead for three major players. We’re talking about team captain Babar Azam, the speedy Shaheen Afridi, and the quick-fingered Mohammad Rizwan.
They’re all set to compete in Canada’s Global T20 League. That’s according to some folks who chatted with Geo News. The PCB has been reaching out to the International Cricket Council, or ICC.
They want to know more about the League’s standing. They’ll decide on the no-objection certificates, or NOCs, based on the ICC’s feedback.
Various players have been looking to the PCB for the okay to join leagues around the globe. Just yesterday 12 players got their needed NOCs to join different global leagues.
Some are part of Pakistan’s main list, others haven’t worn the green uniform in quite awhile. Seven from Pakistan
were selected for the Global T20 Canada League, including Babar, Rizwan, Shaheen, Asif Ali, Mohammad Amir, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Mohammad Nawaz. The Vancouver Knights have chosen Babar, Asif, Amir, and Rizwan, while Shaheen and Nawaz will play for the Toronto Nationals. Iftikhar is joining the Bangla Tigers Mississauga.
