The World Economic Forum is having a special meeting. It’s all about Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy. It’s happening on April 28-29. Guess who’s going? PM Shehbaz Sharif. Yep, he’s going to Saudi Arabia for it. And when is he leaving? This Saturday! The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced this in a press release.
Saudi Arabia’s Prime Minister, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and WEF Executive Chairman Prof Klaus Schwab have invited the premier. Along with him, significant figures like Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will travel too. Remarkably, it’s his second journey to Saudi Arabia in just a few weeks’ time. The last trip he took was a short three-day visit. Interestingly, it was his debut international visit since winning the election again.
Today, PM Shehbaz, the Prime Minister, along with his ministers, is set to take part in the World Economic Forum’s talks. The foreign office tells us they’ll discuss topics such as trade and investment strategies, fresh investment plans, changing supply chains, and sustainable growth. They’ll also touch on the energy scenario. The foreign office shared this news in a statement.

They can share their main interests. These are things like global health, growing in a fair way, improving regional teamwork and balancing growth with energy use.
The top official and his team will have one-on-one discussions with global leaders. These include people like the Saudi rulers, international organization chiefs, and other notable attendees of the event, as mentioned.
FO Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch stated yesterday, the PM plans to voice Pakistan’s serious worry on the Gaza genocide. He will also stand up for their freedom rights and stress on unity. On top of that, he will discuss Islamophobia, terrorism, and world challenges, especially those facing Muslim communities. Baloch also mentioned that the prime minister will arrange one-on-one talks with leaders of the Muslim world.
On Monday, a meeting in Riyadh will concentrate on Gaza. It will host new Palestinian PM Mohammed Mustafa, Egypt’s PM Mostafa Madbouly, and Sigrid Kaag. She coordinates aid for the Gaza Strip through the United Nations, says the report.
Not just the Turkish, Jordanian, and Egyptian leaders, but also France’s Stephane Sejourne and Germany’s Annalena Baerbock are making the trip to Riyadh. They’re joining the summit for discussions about Gaza.

The prime minister is also set to join the 15th round of the Islamic Summit Conference. The theme for this meet is Boosting Unity and Solidarity via Dialogue for Enduring Development. The dates are May 4 and 5 in Gambia. This follows Foreign Minister Dar’s involvement in the Council of Foreign Ministers’ pre-conference meeting on May 2-3.
